Mapping Our Heritage

Starting the first weekend of May, we are kicking off our Mapping Our Heritage project.  This will be a three-step project where we will be able to learn more about the many cultures and ethnicities represented here at Holy Spirit.  Upon completion of this project, we hope to create events, or acitivies where you may be invited to share you heritage with others in fun and intereactive ways.

As previously mentioned, there will be three steps in this project: Mapping Our Heritage. Surveying Our Heritage, and Narrating Our Heritage.

  1. Mapping Our Heritage: In this first step, we will be inviting parishioners to identify and share with us where you or your families come from.  This will be announced and explained at the weekend masses the first weekend of May. Following each mass, you will be invited to drop a pin onto the location where either you or your family is from. The maps are located in the East Vestibule.
  2. Surveying Our Heritage: This step is only s simple survey which is online for you to complete.  This survey will allow you to share more specific information regarding your place of birth, your ancestor's place(s) of birth, etc. This data will not be shared or used for any other purpose other than this project.  From this information, we will be able to create a more precise map, which hopefully, can be shared with the community. You can access the survey by following the link on the left-hand side of this page.
  3. Narrating Our Heritage: This third and final step is where we will be asking parishioners to share their stories with our community.  We hope to be able to share the stories that explain what it is like to be America, Irish, Mexican, German, Polish, Columbian, Bolivian, etc. As we draw nearer to this step, please check backfor more information.
